DECALS: Southern Pacific H-100-2 Hopper Decals - Yellow

This decal set is designed to letter one SP H-100-2 hopper car in the yellow lettering scheme on the original aluminum carbody cars. These kits are available now from 3D Central - there are two versions of these kits, and these decals work for both:

SP ordered these cars new via the Texas and New Orleans subsidiary in May-June of 1960. They were constructed of aluminum and originally purchased for sulfur service in Texas. In later years, after that service ended, they were repurposed for sand service on the west coast in California. These aluminum cars weathered to a grungy brown color as they aged, and they wore both yellow and red lettering. There has never been a rhyme or reason determined for the difference in lettering colors. 

This decal set does one complete car in as-delivered or later versions of the yellow paint scheme. It includes a number of pre-set car numbers, as well as a full 0-9 block so you can model a specific car number. It also includes various patch and re-weigh data blocks as seen on cars that had been in service for a while.
