Rapido PCF 5241 CuFt Boxcar, Boston and Maine, Road Number 3344

Custom-run Rapido Boston and Maine PCF 5241 CuFt boxcar, road number 3244. 

Boston and Maine purchased 200 of these 5241 Cubic-Foot boxcars from PCF in August of 1979. Built in Renton, WA, the cars were common sights in trains across North America. You can still see these cars in service today, many repainted for Guilford/Pan Am Railways, or repainted in service for shortlines and lease companies. These cars are rolling out their final miles in revenue service before their date with the scrapper, as they approach expiration on the 50-year rule.
