Rapido PCF 5317 CuFt Boxcar, Berlin Mills, Unnumbered

Custom-run Rapido Berlin Mills Railway PCF 5317 CuFt boxcar, unnumbered. Not available anywhere else. These cars are decorated identically to the fully factory-lettered cars, minus the car numbers on both the sides and ends. These unnumbered cars allow you to custom-number the car to a road number of your choice, which is handy if you want more than the six factory-numbered cars in your fleet or want to create a model of a specific car. These cars will include number jumble decals to complete the model. Limited quantities - when they are gone, they're gone.

Berlin Mills purchased 300 of these 5317 Cubic-Foot boxcars from PCF in July-August of 1979. Built in Renton, WA, the cars were seen all over the country from coast to coast, hauling New England paper products across North America. You can still see these cars in service today, patched for new ownership, as they roll out their final miles in revenue service before their date with the scrapper, as they age out on the 50-year rule.
